On September 26, 2024, geography teacher and educational researcher Asel Ondasynovna Zharasova conducted a seminar-coaching session for school teachers titled:  
“Enhancing Students’ Scientific Literacy through the Development of PISA Competencies.”

📌 During the coaching session:
- An overview of the PISA program and its objectives was presented.
- Teachers engaged in discussions, analyzing displayed images and graphs, sharing their insights.
- Strategies to increase students' interest in science and develop their scientific literacy were explored.

🔍 About the PISA Program:
PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) is an international study conducted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), assessing the ability of 15-year-old students to apply their knowledge and skills in real-life situations.
🌏 Insights from Singapore:
Ms. Zharasova shared insights from her 10-day professional development experience in Singapore, where she studied approaches to enhancing scientific literacy within the PISA framework. Innovations from Singapore's education system were discussed, including the integration of digital technologies and blended learning methods aimed at fostering independent and critical thinking among students
